Darrell Lea Ingleburn enjoys 'busiest Easter ever'

Eggs, liquorice and rocky road - oh my!

The team at Darrell Lea have been busy bunnies in the lead-up to Easter time.

The Ingleburn factory employees have worked hard for several months to prepare a range of products to satisfy everyone's sweet tooth.

Darrell Lea's marketing manager James Byrne said his team put the final touches on production for its "biggest ever Easter".

"We make more than a million Easter eggs alone and that number continues to grow," he said.

"We will look to double or triple that number next year."

Mr Byrne said Darrell Lea had unveiled a new item in 2019 - the Ruby chocolate bullets.

He said other Aussie favourites included Rocklea Road and Liquorice All Sorts.

Mr Byrne said he believed Darrell Lea proved popular each year due to gaining customer trust and using good ingredients in their products.

"Darrell Lea is a brand that people know and love - it's iconic," he said.

"Many Australians grew up with it, and their parents and grandparents grew up with it too.

"Our next challenge is to continue to connect with the younger generations. We will look to continue to grow the company."

It has been a busy couple of months for the Darrell Lea team.

History was made at the Ingleburn factory on Monday when the first Life Savers lollies rolled off the production line.

Darrell Lea announced it would take over production of the iconic lollies last July. It marks nearly 20 years since Life Savers were last made in Australia.
