Thirlmere Roosters grind out victory on the road

The Thirlmere Roosters ground out a dogged 22-18 win over The Oaks Tigers on Sunday afternoon.

The clash at Dudley Chesham Sportsground marked round four of the Group 6 first grade comp.

Thirlmere had to play from behind for most of the day, before a late three-try burst helped the visitors claim victory.

The Roosters led after 10 minutes courtesy of centre Blake Harrison scoring.

The Tigers eventually began to find their groove, with Matthew Brasington and Jaydyn Phillips diving over to give them a 12-6 advantage at half time.

Matthew Brasington scored his second try after half time to extend the Tigers' lead to 18-6.

Roosters prop Kye Madden then scored to reduce the deficit to 18-12, before an Adam Campbell try level proceedings at 18-all.

Five-eighth Dayne Craig scored the match-winning try with five minutes left, as the Roosters won by 22-18.

The other round four results saw Moss Vale win by 10-6 win over Campbelltown City, Camden thrashed Mittagong 38-18 and Picton recorded a 40-16 win over Oakdale.
