UPDATE (7.21pm):

Police have confirmed that a man was killed in today's track crash in Silverdale.

Emergency services were called to Silverdale Road, near Pineridge Crescent, about 1.55pm on Monday following reports of a single truck crash.

It is understood a branch fell from a tree and struck the truck's window, causing the driver to lose control before hitting a tree.

A NSW Police Media spokesperson said the male driver, aged in his 30s, was airlifted to Nepean Hospital in a stable condition.

The truck's male passenger died at the scene. Their age has not been confirmed.

Silverdale Road remains closed in both directions more than five hours after the incident occurred.

Police have established a crime scene on Silverdale Road.


Two men have been injured during a truck crash in Silverdale this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the corner of Silverdale Road and Pineridge Crescent about 1.55pm following reports that a truck had crashed into a tree.

A Fire and Rescue NSW spokeswoman said the male driver was trapped in his vehicle, but had now been freed.

The driver and a male passenger are being treated at the scene by paramedics. Their condition has not been released at this stage.

Firefighters are working to mop up a minor oil spill.

Traffic is affected in both directions, motorists in the area should expect delays.
