PROUD MOMENT: Susan Hall accepts her Business Woman of the Year award from Precedent Production's Steve Loe.

She might have been named Business Woman of the Year at the Wollondilly Local Business Awards but Susan Hall believes it wouldn't have happened without the support of her husband Malcolm, and her talented staff.

The owner, founder and licensee of Hall's Conveyancing in Picton said her husband's faith in her 10 years ago when she opened the business, and the commitment of staff members Donna Duck and Sheree Farmer every day, made winning the award a team effort.

"Their loyalty and support in me and the business humbles me," Ms Hall said.

She has been entering the awards since she first started her business and has been a finalist several times. She won conveyancer of the year in 2016.

Ms Hall said she was surprised to win one of the major awards, even though her staff members kept telling her she would.

"I think I won Business Woman of the Year due to my staff, our amazing clients, and our empathetic, hands-on personal approach to conveyancing," Ms Hall said.

"We always treat our customers with respect and like they are special: not just some file number on a desk.

"We go that extra mile for our clients: lending a sympathetic ear when needed, calming their fears and anxiety when required and generally making them feel like they are our only client, as much as we can."

Ms Hall believed all local businesses should get involved with the awards.

"It is satisfying and exciting to be a finalist and even more amazing when you win," she said.
