East Campbelltown Eagles to sport Indigenous jersey to celebrate NAIDOC Week

The East Campbelltown Eagles will wear a unique jersey this weekend.

The Eagles will sport a specially designed Indigenous jersey when they face the Belrose Eagles at Waminda Oval on Sunday.

Players across all grades are wearing the uniform to celebrate NAIDOC Week.

Indigenous player Wylleon Baker designed the Eagles under-17s jersey, Thomas Sullivan designed the reserve grade jersey while Naya Barnes created the under-23s and Sydney Shield jerseys.

Eagles president Daniel Draper said the club had many Indigenous players, coaches and committee members.

"We really look forward to this round and the jersey designs look great," he said.

"It will be a huge day for the community as our club will showcase our Indigenous talents and their proud culture, both on and off the field," he said.

The action will begin at 10.30am.

Highlights will include a smoking ceremony and Aboriginal dance performances.
