Craig Gresham founds Misha's Mates to help Tasmanian veteran trauma survivors

Misha's Mates is the answer Craig Gresham has been working towards for about five years now.

Misha was Craig's first, now retired, assistance dog.

Working exclusively with veterans and first responders, Mr Gresham provides the tools for people to train their own post-traumatic stress disorder assistance dogs.

He said because the veterans are training their own dogs, he is able to cut the cost of the service from tens of thousands of dollars to $1500.

"Our dogs are unique in a couple of ways," he said.

"The veterans are involved in training with the dog team from day one.

"They build a really special relationship, and learn the skills to work with their dog and really understand each other."
