Frank Lampard has secured his first English Premier League win as Chelsea manager with a thrilling 3-2 success away to Norwich City.
Tammy Abraham opened the scoring for Chelsea in just three minutes on Saturday and closed it with the winner off a fine drive midway through the second period.
In between Norwich equalised through Todd Cantwell, Mason Mount restored the Chelsea advantage and Teemu Pukki levelled again inside a breathless first half.
But Abraham's 69th minute shot earned a narrowly deserved victory for Chelsea, who move on to four points from three games.
Promoted Norwich, on three, were unlucky when Ben Godfrey headed against the bar.
The 21-year-old Abraham's goals were his first in the Premier League.
He drove towards the box before angling his shot back across keeper Tim Krul for the deciding goal. His opener was a fine volley.
"I wouldn't say it's a relief but we knew we had to win," the BBC quoted him as saying.
"The first two games of the season were tough. We came here knowing we needed the three points."
Lampard praised the youngster but said Chelsea's win was a team effort.
"I'm particularly pleased for Tammy and he scored two good goals and the winning goal, but I want to talk about all the players today as we controlled the game on a hot day," Lampard said.
"Our performances haven't given us what we deserved so far - but today it did."
Norwich needed less than three minutes to find a first equaliser when Pukki hit the byline to cross for Cantwell but Mount's second in two games put Chelsea back in front.
Finland's Pukki is in superb form though and he found space behind the Chelsea defence to level with his fifth goal in three Premier League matches.
Norwich manager Daniel Farke told BT Sport it was in a close game and small details had made the difference.
"I am pretty happy with the performance, we had a number of chances, unfortunately we could not find the equaliser," he said.
Later on Saturday Manchester United host Crystal Palace and leaders Liverpool host second-placed Arsenal in the late game. Champions Manchester City travel to Bournemouth on Sunday.
