Disability Services Australia (DSA) has been delivering a wide range of supports in key areas of NSW for more than 62 years and in the Macarthur region for nearly 30 years.
"We've been a provider of 24/7 supported accommodation for local people with a disability since the early 1990s and are really excited to be able to expand our support with the opening of McFaul House in Picton," chief executive officer Leisa Hart said.
"The introduction of this new short-term accommodation service will meet a very real need for local people with a disability, as well as their families and carers.
"It gives them an opportunity to have access to the appropriate respite services.
"Each and every day we see the difference that the right support can make in a person's life, and are pleased to be able to continue to develop and learn side by side with the people we support."
Regional manager Michelle Stevens said McFaul House was equipped to accommodate up to five people with complex physical support needs.
It offered an opportunity to take a short break from their usual routine, meet new people and learn new skills.
"We are also running a Life Skills program from 10am to 1pm on Mondays and Thursdays in September," she said.
"With a range of fun activities every week there's something for everyone to enjoy."
