ALL AGES: Wollondilly Anglican College caters for students from pre-kindergarten all the way through to Year 12.

Wollondilly Anglican College in Tahmoor was founded 16 years ago when the local Christian churches combined their efforts to establish an independent school based on their philosophy.

Headmaster Dr Stuart Quarmby said the college ethos of "Towards excellence in education - for Christ's Glory" was reflected in all aspects of the curriculum.

He said the co-educational college catered for students from pre-kindergarten through to Year 12.

There are currently 1050 students in attendance with an expected increase of around 100 for 2020.

"Demographers are surprised that an area with such low population can support a large independent school," Dr Quarmby said.

"They are shocked that it continues to be one of the fastest growing independent schools in NSW."

The campus is set on 95 acres and features a "football field the size of the SCG" as well as dance and drama studios, a commercial grade trade skills kitchen and a music room with amphitheatre and tuition spaces.

For the year 11 and 12 students there is a separate and distinct semi-university style campus.

The college also offers national and international scholarships in academic, creative and performing arts, and sport.

The curriculum features all the popular courses, particularly those with an academic base. An after hours sports academy has produced a number of sporting champions.

Students stage a yearly musical and there is a cheer squad, dance company, band and string orchestra, as well as a choir.

"At Wollondilly Anglican College there are many opportunities for students to be enriched," Dr Quarmby said.

"Programs such as the Da Vinci Decathlon, Illawarra Science Fair, Debating and Mathematics Olympiad Problem Solving all cater for students who require extension with their learning.

"At Wollondilly we provide for advanced learners on a daily basis through our Grace class and quality teaching programs that are differentiated with extension activities to enrich their learning."

Applications for academic, dance and music scholarships open on Tuesday, September 3 for students entering Years 7, 9 and 11 in 2021.
