A Melbourne underworld figure is expected to admit to driving while on drugs after allegedly crashing a car into a roundabout at 209 km/h.
Nabil Maghnie had allegedly denied being behind the wheel at the time of the crash at Woodstock on May 25, despite being the only person in the car.
But the 43-year-old is expected to plead guilty to some charges over the incident, including driving under the influence of drugs and while disqualified.
Melbourne Magistrates Court was on Tuesday told Maghnie was also expected to plead guilty to attempting to pervert the course of justice, while contesting the charge of reckless conduct endangering life.
He had denied driving the Range Rover when it hit the roundabout north of Melbourne, became airborne, struck another car and then careened into a paddock, the court was earlier told.
Maghnie collapsed at the scene and was taken to hospital, where cocaine and other drugs were found in his system.
Another man, 31-year-old Nicholas Ruaro, is accusing of attempting to pervert the course of justice after allegedly claiming to have been the driver.
Ruaro and Maghnie are both on bail, the latter so he can attend drug rehab.
Maghnie, also known as Nabil Moughnieh, drove himself to hospital after being shot in the head in 2016. He was the victim of another shooting five years earlier.
His son, Jacob Elliott, has been charged with the drive-by shooting murders of two people outside Prahran's Love Machine nightclub in April.
Maghnie and Ruaro are both expected back in court on October 23.
