Thieves have stolen various items from the Warragamba Inclusive Play Space worksite.
Wollondilly Council took to its Facebook page to voice its disappointment.
"Disappointingly, some items for the cableway and swing sets for the inclusive play space have been stolen from Warragamba Civic Park," the post read.
"Items include the cables, nuts and bolts and seat connectors.
"This has been reported to the police.
"If any members of the community have seen anything suspicious in the area, please pass the information on to the police."
Stage one of the all abilities playground was supposed to open in February however it was not sufficiently ready and safe for public access at the time .
The new all abilities playground was expected to open in time for Spring.
Livvis Place was designed according to the principles of inclusive play, along with feedback received from community engagement activities.
A Gundungurra elder has designed four laser cut fence panels which will tell the story of the Gundungurra people while the children from Warragamba Public School have created over 200 tiles which will decorate the entrance wall, with the theme Everyone Can Play.
Once complete, the $1.4 million play space will feature a large climbing net, a wheelchair accessible carousel, a flying fox, swings, water play, musical items, a changing place amenities facility and much more.
