Bushfires are raging all across NSW but that won't stop our firies from spreading some much-needed Christmas cheer.
Menangle Park Rural Fire Brigade will bring Santa to Menangle, Macarthur Gardens and Glen Apline on Christmas Eve (December 24).
Brigade captain Brett Atkins said the event, now in its 31st year, was a chance for locals to meet RFS volunteers.
"It's been a tradition for more than 30 years now - we started out driving around the streets but for safety reasons we now make a few stops at different parks," he said.
"We have a lot of families or parties come out and see us and the kids love seeing the truck - and getting a lolly or too, of course."
This year's Santa run will stop at Menangle Park township from 4pm, Robinson Park, Macarthur Gardens at 5pm, Glen Alpine Community Hall at 5.45pm, Braeside Reserve, Glen Alpine from 6pm, Hartford Reserve, Glen Alpine from 6.15pm, Ashfield Reserve, Glen Alpine from 6.30pm and Abington Reserve, Glen Alpine from 6.45pm.
Captain Atkins said the event would also give locals a chance to speak with firefighters about the bushfire situation.
"We'll have the siren going a little bit for the kids, they can meet Santa and we can talk with people about the fires," he said.\
"We have guys out there fighting the fire currently but we wanted to make time for the run too.
"It'll be good for people to ask us about it and it'll be good for us to talk about it too.
