Green Wattle Creek fire upgraded to 'Watch and Act'

The Green Wattle Creek fire has now been upgraded to 'Watch and Act' as of 11:23 am. on January 4 2020 according to the latest update from the Fires Near Me app.

A spokesperson from the Wollondilly and Wingecarribee fire control centre has said that fire activity has "increased dramatically."

"The temperature increase has made things worse," she said.

"Air crafts are carrying out water bombing and monitoring the situation," she said.

"Crews are working hard."

An 'Advice' alert was issue for Mount Alexandra at 11:44 am via the Fires Near Me app due to heavy smoke in the vicinity.

A spokesperson said that crews had investigated the area and no fire was reported.

Current Situation
