A man died and another was taken to hospital in a single vehicle crash at Douglas Park in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Emergency services were called to the Hume Highway just before 4.30am following reports of a crash.
Camden police officers attended found a vehicle which had appeared to have left the roadway, rolled down an embankment and caught fire.
Firefighters attended and extinguished the blaze.
NSW Ambulance paramedics attended, however one of the two men in the car died at the scene. The second man was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a serious condition.
Police established a crime scene and forensically examined it with the help of the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit.
One of the highway's northbound lanes was closed for several hours following the incident.
