Wollondilly matters with Matthew Deeth: Thanks to the volunteers at the Balmoral Village Hall

On behalf of Council, I would like to express a huge thanks to all of the volunteers at the Balmoral Village Hall who worked tirelessly to support the Wollondilly and Wingecarribee communities after this summer's devastating Green Wattle Creek fire.

I would particularly like to thank Kim Hill from the RFS and Kerry O'Grady from Picton CWA for their dedication to providing locals with a place to access quality food and household items during the bushfire recovery period.

A special mention must also go to the Picton Country Women's Association and the Bargo Men's Shed for their support to the community throughout the bushfire crisis.

During this time we saw locals looking after each other and rallying together to provide an overwhelming donation of toys, food, toiletries, and more. We also saw the resilience of our community, a community that unites together during times of crisis. It has been great to see people working so well together and coming together to support and look after each other.

Our volunteers were there throughout the fire crisis and have continued to provide valuable support to impacted families throughout the recovery period. You have done an amazing job and on behalf of the whole community, I say thank you.

It was a summer that we will never forget, but without our treasured volunteers Wollondilly would not be the wonderful place that it is!
