Second man arrested in relation to Rosemeadow shooting

A second person has been charged after a man arrived at Campbelltown Hospital with a gunshot wound to his right shoulder last year.

A 22-year-old man was arrested today (Monday, July 2020) and charged with several offences in relation to the May, 2019 incident.

He faces charges of shoot with intent to murder, discharge firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and fire firearm manner likely to injure persons.

A 25-year-old Leumeah man was arrested last June (2019) in relation to the same shooting.

He was charged with shoot at with intent to murder and discharge firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. He remains before the courts.

Detectives attached to Campbelltown Police Area Command formed Strike Force Veda to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crime.

The victim was injured at Malcolm Way, Rosemeadow on Saturday, May 25, 2019.

The 22-year-old arrestee was formally refused bail before Campbelltown Local Court today. He will face the court again tomorrow.

Investigations are ongoing.
