Valentine's Day is only a few weeks away - and we've got the perfect movie giveaway for you and your significant other.
Long Story Short, the new romantic comedy from talented Aussie filmmaker Josh Lawson (The Little Death), hits cinemas on Thursday, February 11 - just in time for the most romantic day on the calendar.
The film follows 'serial procrastinator' Teddy (played by Brit Rafe Spall, Life of Pi) and the love of his life, Leanne (Zahra Newman, Neighbours).
The pair get happily engaged and married, but everything changes when Teddy wakes up the day after the wedding - because it's not, in fact, the next day at all but a year in the future.
It turns out that Teddy is jumping forward a year in time every few minutes, and he must do his best to salvage his relationship with Leanne before it's too late.
Long Story Short also stars Noni Hazlehurst (A Place to Call Home) and Ronny Chieng (Crazy Rich Asians).
Lawson was influenced by the likes of It's a Wonderful Life and A Christmas Carol to craft a story where one can look an entire life story in snapshots, learning important lessons along the way.
The writer-director wrote the first draft of the rom-com in just a couple of weeks, then spent much longer fine-tuning the script.
He describes romantic comedy genre as incredibly relatable, a "human genre".
Lawson said finding the right actor to play Teddy was a huge challenge, but once he'd had a chat with Spall he knew he'd found the right man for the job.
Long Story Short (rating TBC) hits cinemas nationally on February 11.
