Man, 27, charged during search warrant at a Leppington home

Following a search warrant at a home at Leppington this morning, Raptor Squad investigators have charged a Bandidos outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG) associate over an alleged affray at a licenced premise in Sydney's Inner West at the weekend.

About 1am on Saturday, June 5, officers from Leichhardt Police Area Command were called to a licenced premise at Norton Street, Leichhardt, following reports of an assault.

Police were told that a man had an argument with a woman while inside the premises, before becoming involved in a physical altercation with another man.

During the altercation, a number of people attempted to intervene before two men allegedly armed themselves with a knife and broom handle.

The men then allegedly confronted another man, causing him to fall to the floor before stomping on him several times. The group dispersed and the men left the area.

Initial inquiries were conducted by local police, before the State Crime Command's Raptor Squad took carriage of the investigation.

Following extensive inquiries, Raptor Squad investigators, with assistance from the Public Order and Riot Squad (PORS), executed a search warrant at a home at Leppington about 6am this morning.

During the search, officers seized anabolic steroids and prescription medications.

A 27-year-old man was arrested and taken to Narellan Police Station, where he was charged with affray, two counts of possessing a prohibited drug and possessing a prescribed restricted substance.

The man, who is a Bandidos OMCG associate, was refused bail to appear at Moss Vale Local Court today. Investigations into the incident are continuing.
