One of Macarthur FC's brightest stars will not suit up for the Bulls next season.

Young gun Denis Genreau - who just finished his debut Olympic berth after the Olyroos were knocked out of the Tokyo Games during the group stage - will play in his birth country of France, after the Bulls agreed to a transfer.

Macarthur FC confirmed the move on Saturday.

"The club has agreed to a transfer for Denis Genreay to French side Toulouse FC," sporting and operations director Sam Krslovic said.

"The agreement includes a percentage of any further on sale.

"Denis, who made his Socceroo debut this year, before representing Australia at Tokyo Olympics, was the club's inaugural Macarthur Medal winner, and an integral ingredient in our successful season.

"We would like to wish Denis all the best in his future."

While Genreau's departure is a big loss in playing stock to the club, playing in Europe is a great career opportunity for the 22-year-old.

The attacking midfielder played 23 games for the Bulls before his national call-up, scoring two goals along the way.

The Bulls will field a vastly different side in the 2021/22 season, with a host of inaugural team members leaving the club at the end of their debut year.
