Property prices have soared across Macarthur in recent years and Camden is no different.
A professionally designed, art-deco style home on Menangle Road is expected to set a new suburb record when it goes under the hammer next month.
The six-bedroom, three-bathroom home, being sold by Camden's McGrath Real Estate, is expected to fetch upwards of $2.4 million.
The home's owner is TV personality and Distinctive Living Design director Dean Boone.
Mr Boone was a TV presenter on Garden Gurus, a location scout for the ABC's Gardens Australia and a design teacher for Coco Republic, specialising in outdoor living spaces.
He said he bought the 1930s house 10 years ago from its original owners as Menangle Road was considered one of the best streets in Camden.
"The kitchen is a really important part of this house," he said.
"I design things with lots of natural light - the sunlight travels around the house. The kitchen is a dark box that envelopes you.
"The back of the house feels like a tree house. It looks over a garden of old camellias and crepe myrtles. We've added garden lighting and an organic vegetable garden - there's room to add a pool."
Mr Boone added a rear extension connected to the original house through a glass junction.
The original art-deco features of the home were restored and retained; floorboards, skirtings, bricks and roof tiles were also matched.
The Spanish olive colour is featured through the house with the old laundry now a wine cellar with a brick floor and the laundry copper.
Mr Boone is on the hunt for another art-deco house to renovate.
McGrath Camden principal Stuart Davies said the home had already attracted a lot of interest.
"It's too early in the campaign to comment on registrations however, I've received 110 enquiries in the first seven days of the campaign," he said.
"The current record for central Camden stands at nearly $2 million for another home on Menangle Road - sold in July this year."
The median price for a home in Camden according to Property Value by CoreLogic is $770,000.
