Police officer charged over alleged domestic violence-related offences

A police officer has been charged over alleged domestic violence-related offences.

On Tuesday, October 19, officers attached to Campbelltown City Police Area Command commenced inquiries after reports a 30-year-old woman had been assaulted by a man known to her.

Following inquiries, a 32-year-old senior constable - attached to the South West Metropolitan Region - was arrested and charged with 12 offences including two counts of common assault, two counts of intentionally choking a person without consent and three counts of contravening an AVO.

He was refused bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court on Wednesday, October 20. The officer is currently suspended without pay.
