A concerned One Nation senator Peter Georgiou has expressed doubts about his preselection, but been told he has nothing to worry about.
Long-time One Nation member Brian Burston this week quit the party due to a dispute over company tax cuts and serious doubts over whether he would keep the top spot on the party's NSW ticket for the Senate.
Senator Georgiou told The West Australian he was also unclear if he would keep top spot in his state for Pauline Hanson's party.
"There's been a lot of rumours thrown around," Senator Georgiou told the newspaper.
"I am the sitting senator. I am assuming I would be (named in the number one spot), but anything's possible."
However AAP understands One Nation powerbrokers have told him he has nothing to worry about over his preselection.
One Nation's Senate candidate teams for the election due by May 2019 will be announced within the next three weeks.
