French automaker Groupe PSA, which makes cars under brands such as Peugeot and Opel, is evacuating its expatriate employees in Wuhan, the city at the epicentre of a deadly coronavirus outbreak in China.

"Groupe PSA has decided to repatriate its expatriates and their families who are in Wuhan area," it said in a statement, adding that it was co-ordinating with Chinese and French authorities.
The French news agency AFP reported that about 38 French nationals were to be repatriated under PSA's plan.
Meanwhile, the French Foreign Ministry said it's examining the possibility of pulling other French nationals out of Wuhan, which has been placed under a lockdown in an attempt to stop the spread of the virus that has killed 42.
Many French people live in or near the central Chinese city because PSA and Renault-Nissan have joint ventures with the Chinese car maker Dongfeng in the area.
