Is it just me or has 2020 both the longest and shortest year? All concept of time has gone out the window.
With that in mind, you would be forgiven for October 31 sneaking up on you.
If you're stuck for quick and easy ideas for Halloween, here are some DIY costume ideas.
1. Face paint is your friend
The best example of how face paint can not only make a costume but is the costume is when talking about sugar skulls.
Traditionally part of the Mexican celebration of the Day of the Dead, sugar skulls have become for Halloween popular over recent years. And all you need to complete this costume is some flowers for your hair.
Of course, face paint can also help with an easy costume for a skeleton.
2. 2020
Remember a time when 13 or 666 were the scariest numbers you could think of? 2020 has definitely got them beat.
So if 2020 is one of the scariest things that have come our way, why not dress up as it for the spookiest day of the year?
All you'd need for this costume is a plain t-shirt and something to write 2020 on it. This could be done with paint or even just a permanent market if you're really strapped for time.
3. A ghost
It's a classic for a reason. It is high impact for very little effort.
All you need is a white sheet with a couple of holes in it and if you want to put in a little extra effort, you can add on a bow tie or hair ribbon - because even a ghost can accessorise if they want to.
4. Smartie pants
This one combines trick and treat, plus a little bit of word play.
Not only is this one super easy to construct, you will have snacks on hand at all time throughout Halloween.
All you need to do is attach the treat sized packets of Smarties to a pair of pants with safety pins.
The same concept can be taken to a cereal killer, using fun sized packets of cereal and adding a Rambo-style toy gun and bandanna.

5. Men in Black
Do you have a black suit and black tie? All you need is a pair of sunglasses and a new agent name, and you are ready to join the Men in Black.
You will get extra points if you can find a pug to be the Frank to your Agent J for the night.
6. It's raining men
It's meant to rain on Saturday so why not incorporate an umbrella into your Halloween costume?
All you need to embody the "It's raining men" concept is an umbrella, with photos of different male celebrities hung to the edge of it with fishing line.
You can add to the costume with gum boots and a raincoat.
7. Rosie the Riverter
She's an iconic cultural character from World War II and a perfect easy costume choice.
Rosie instantly recognisable and all you need is a red bandanna and a navy blue shirt.
8. 50 Shades of Grey
This one is a lot more child-friendly than it sounds.
All you need is some grey paint swatches (featuring - you guessed - 50 shades of grey) and pin them to a t-shirt.
Simple, but effective.
9. 80s aerobics instructor
Have you gotten used to wearing leggings during COVID? Not ready to give them up?
Well, add a brightly coloured one-piece swimsuit, a sweatband and sneakers and you are the perfect 1980s aerobics instructor.
10. Grapes
Is it scary? No. Is it easy? Yes.
Grab some purple or green balloons, blow them up and attach them to a shirt, before drawing on a stem with a permanent marker. You can do the same with red balloons for cherries.
