It feels like we all need a moment to recover from the daily COVID-19 press conferences and the arresting images from around the world.
Take a breath by watching a few of the videos that made us forget the world just a little bit and remember that we ordinary, average Australians have the opportunity to make a difference to our world every single day.
Goat firefighters
This week, the NSW Rural Fire Service announced it would trial a new form of hazard reduction work - that involved a team of 40 goats.
Deployed in grasslands near Mudgee in the state's central west region, the team of goats have been tasked with eating as much as they can to keep the vegetation under control.
If the prove successful in their rather straightforward but utterly crucial mission, more firefighting goats will be brought on to attack the grounds near some of the state's most fire-prone areas.
Not all superheroes are goats, but all goats could be superheroes.
Saving tiny Pixie
Pixie the koala weighs just over 400 grams and stands to the height of a soft drink can, but this tiny marsupial is a heavyweight fighter.
She has clawed her way to survival after keepers at the Australian Reptile Park assumed she wouldn't make it through the night when she was born in July.
Her mother fell gravely ill immediately once Pixie was born and if it weren't for the intervention of Aussie Ark president Tim Faulkner, she'd be dead.
Mr Faulkner and his two sons have hand-reared the tiny joey and in a couple of years time, once Pixie has made it through "Koala Preschool", she'll be on her way to ensuring the survival of her species as part of the park's ongoing breeding program.
Unexpected survey results
An Australian first survey has revealed that every federal electorate in the country supports decisive action on climate change.
That includes electorates where the majority of the workforce relies on fossil fuel mining or gas harvesting.
As CEO of the Australian Conservation Foundation Kelly O'Shannassy puts it, "we want action, no matter where you live or how you have your coffee in the morning".
